eat local and winter farmer markets

Winter farmers markets links

Go to this link: http://www.seacoasteatlocal.org/   Now you can purchase local food all year long at the winter farmer's markets. Last year I shopped at almost every market and it was fun. I saw many fellow farmers but also many customers and had a great time visiting.  Bring your children to the markets. Let them grow up watching their parents purchase from local markets and local farms.  If all folks would buy only one item per week, even if its just a bunch of beets or a head of lettuce, we would see an increase in farms growing local food. It is almost too late for our state to be food secure as much of the good farm land has been paved over or changed into housing lots or malls. We are at a critical point here in New Hampshire as far as food security is concerned and I don't think most people have any idea! I know I didn't before I met my farmer husband.
