The PYO tomato patch is open with an abundant supply of early and early main season varieties. The price for PYO is $1.00/lb red or green. This year the patch has approx 800 tomato plants with 13 varieties. We are about 4-5 days away from having a quantity of ripe Romas and Viva Italianos, however these plum tomato varieties were adversely effected by the cool temps and rain earlier in the season resulting in a somewhat diminished crop. Raspberries season is just about over. It takes a lot of work to fill your baskets and requires searching and picking down low and inside the bushes. Unfortunately our fall raspberries did not overwinter well and we don't expect to reap a fall harvest from them. This week the farm hours are Mon thru Fri 9am - 6pm. Sat 9 - 4 and Sunday 12 - 4pm. Our peaches are selling very quickly and almost all are picked. We will have them several more days. We also have 2 varieties of green beans available for PYO. Randy has large plantings of sweet corn coming along and hopes to be into them by this weekend. These cooler night temps have slowed their growth. Corn availability will be erratic until these larger plantings mature. At the farm stand we will offer tomatoes, pickling cukes, kale, Swiss chard, broccoli, traditional and eight ball zucchini. We also offer specialty cut Lisianthus stems in white and purple and a few potted perennials. Our handmade herbal soaps are sold at the farm stand year round. My latest favorite is Ginger Garden. Call the farm phone @ 868-2001 anytime for updates or check here.
