PYO patch has lots of red and green tomatoes
For the next few weeks the farm hours are Tues - Fri 9-6, Sat and Sun 9-4, closed Monday. The PYO tomato patch still has an abundant supply of main season red and green varieties. The price for PYO is $1.00/lb red or green. This year the patch has approx 800 tomato plants with 13 varieties including heirloom and plum varieties. We expect to have tomatoes into Oct. We also have green beans available for PYO, although they will end soon. We have lots of Sweet Corn now. Randy has large plantings growing in the fields and we hope to have it thru Sept. The farmstand is stocked daily with various varieties of tomatoes, cukes, various lettuces, peppers, kale, Baby Swiss chard, summer squash, traditional and eight ball Zucchini. Our summer plantings of pickling and slicing cukes, zuchinni and broccoli are winding down resulting in low amounts of these at this time, however we have new plantings coming along and hope to pick from them soon. Cantalope and Delicata squash are ready. Soon we will also offer Kabocha Orange and Buttercup winter squash. Fall pumpkins and gourds are coloring up. We have started fall seedlings of spinach, lettucse, swiss chard and kale and hope to have various vegetables thru fall. The fall raspberries did not overwinter in good health and we don't know yet if they will amount to anything. We no longer have PYO grapes. Our handmade herbal soaps are sold at the farm stand year round. My latest favorite is a nice dark Coffee mint with coffee grounds. Call the farm phone @ 868-2001 anytime for updates or check here.
